For those of you who use the one piece base/ring talleys what height did you buy? I have a remington 700 with a sporter barrel and a 42mm front bell scope. I do use rain covers so trying to keep that in mind as well. Should I go mediums? Thanks!

I have lows on both my Remington LTR (heavy barrel) with 42mm Swarovski. Covers would work but not ideal, with a sporter barrel, definitely would fit.

Hope this helps!
Steve

I have lows on my LAW 7mm RM with a Leupold 3X18X44mm VX 6. Works perfectly.

I would say you need to decide if you are shooting long range or not for long range you will need high rings and for close you can get by with short rings and depending on the size of your scope i have scopes from 44 up to 56mm on carbon fiber barrels and i do some long range hunting so i set my rifle up for where and how long of a shot i think i will be making .
