New Howa HS Carbon Fiber introduced at Shot Show

Howas may be a little heavy, but they shoot very well for factory rifles. Before I burned out the barrel on my Vanguard series 1 - 257 weatherby it would shoot .5-.75 consistently. The only mod was a timney trigger.

Way too pricey for a Howa not matter what barrel is on it. And heavy as heck for that. Pass, but I hope it does well for someone else.

I am guessing street price will be significantly less, but yeah, I agree - seems a little heavy for what you get.

I just saw this today as well and am looking forward to getting my hands on it and learning more. Every Weatherby Vanguard (built by Howa) I have shot has impressed me. Expecting that Weatherby will likely introduce something similar in the vanguard line in the future (late 2020 or shot show 2021) since the new Mark V appears to be their focus right now, and rightfully so.

Just looked at the catalog and the HS Carbon is listed at the same weight as the all steel HS precision rifle which doesn't make sense to me. All I can think is the weight listed on the carbon includes the scope they have pictured? Idk...I guess we'll have to wait and see.
