Well something I've been scratching my head over for years. Why has no one manufactured a longer more streamline bullet for this? It's one of the most popular hunting rounds of all time. Why has there not been advancement in higher BC bullets. I know I know the 6.5 is the greatest bullet of all time. "maybe". Thanks to nosler there is now the 150 gr. So my question is are we finally going to get longer higher BC bullets to tinker with? I myself believed it would be outstanding to really see how far you can push the ol 270.

Many of us have been pushing the 270 long range for quite sometime, a few years ago we had three bullets from Matrix from 165 gr up and all hammered, past couple years we've had the 170 EOL from Berger that really gets with it and sounds like Nosler is bringing a 165 ABLR, I've been completely pleased with just a couple bullet selection for heavy for cal high BC bullets cause that's all I need, not like my 7mm's that I have to wade through a plethora of bullets and then end up back at the one or two 270 bullets I like. Once the manufactures start putting a faster twist in the barrels then the doors will open big.

Ditto! I have more 175s than 165s from Matrix but have yet to load the 165s.

The low bc problem comes from the factory twist rate on barrels. The 25s have the same problem.... the 6.5s Abd especially the 7s and 338s just have some many more high BC options...

with that being said I will never be without at least 2 27cal rifles of some flavor

Barrett fieldcraft in 270 and 25-06 have 1-9, the new 27 Nosler carbons are 1-8.5. Only two mfg's with a little faster twist, but it's a start
