Who hunts with a chassis

MPA has a video out showing a 6.5 PRC ultralite,no scope,24'' proof.7 1/2#,thats exactly what I want.Wolf killer

I'm going back to stocks on all my hunting rifles. I like a more vertical grip but don't like a handle that protrudes downward. Haven't found any difference between the two at distance. All personal preference.

Yeah I was actually planning on an EH1 for the build but I like my MPA chassis so well that I decided to try it. Plus I like the idea of having a folding stock too.

I would also entertain the March 5-42x56 that is coming out but I hate FFP on a hunting rifle. I like the extra magnification though since I plan to take this one out to 1500 plus. I also have a March 5-50 that has worked well on my 28 Nosler.

Here is our new light weight Mountain Precision Hunter chassis it weighs only 2.0 lbs, trimmed out with a 2.5-10 NXS and bipod only weighs 8.4 lbs.

Tikka ctr KRG Bravo .308win nightforce nxs 5.5-22x56 npr-1 Its a very light chassis at 3lbs with mag, just the chassis that is.

I'm in the latter stages of building a long range hunting rifle in a chassis. It's my first chassis rifle ever. It's going to be used as a treestand rifle to reach way out into CRP fields and down powerline right of ways. As is without the new barrel, it weighs 10.8lbs.

Just built this today, I have not shot it yet...

I know y'all chassis guys are all enamored by the chassis and the tacticool looks of it all but I prefer the internal chassis stocks with the traditional look and feel and they naturally just carry way easier without having to make additions or modifications.

For those of you scratching your head at what I'm referring to consider the HS Precision and Bell and Carlson stocks with the aluminum bedding blocks. They essentially are an aluminum chassis with an outer shell that is shaped as and feels like the traditional rifle stock.

I consider it best of both worlds and accuracy once you bed your action into the bedding blocks is outstanding and very hard to believe.

It's also a way cheaper alternative although to custom builders cheaper is usually the least traveled route and it's certainly not as sexy as a chassis that looks like something out of a Transformer or maybe a Star Wars movie.

I could care less about anything tacticool or the way it looks. Its about how it feels and the adjustability of the chassis system for me. I built my first one two years ago and I absolutely love shooting with it but it's just too heavy to hunt with. I just got this one Saturday and the entire gun chassis included only weighs 8.7 lbs. Built by Ryan Pierce and chambered in 300 Norma Improved. I dont have the brass or bullets yet so I haven't shot it but it's -7 here anyway. Hopefully I can get out this weekend and see how she shoots.

Nice! That is the one I am talking with Ryan about also. Was that 8.7 with the scope too?

No I haven't weighed it with the scope yet. I am waiting until after shot show to buy a scope for it so its wearing my load development scope a March 10-60×56 high master for now. The 8.7 lbs it what Ryan said it weighs but I will check it with the scope later.

So, this thing is ALMOST complete. I'm still changing a couple things. I'd like to swap the grip out for a vertical, switch to lower rings and also add the thumb rest from XLR.
