6.5 creedmoor to 270 wsm

I have a 6.5 Creedmoor Remington 700. Not happy with the performance of this cartridge. Rather then buying another action would it be possible to Rebarrel this action to a 270 wsm?
I might be wrong but I think most people using the WSM cases are going to longer actions to allow for heavier bullets. You could modify your Rem 700 SA but it might be better to go to a longer action or different cartridge. I'm not a CM fan but many are getting some impressive performance with it. What specifically are you not happy with? What's the intend job for this rifle?

Hmmm I wonder if there is a wildcat 270-284 cartridge out there. Probably a bushing die set out based off the 284.

It might be easier to just sell the rifle and use the proceeds towards getting a WSM. I think the Winchester M70 was built on a "medium action". My understanding is it's SA dimension so it fit a SA stock but the mag box and throw was longer.

Throw a 1:8 twist barrel on there and that 270 wsm will turn into a beast. Slinging 156 Hammers, 165 Matrix and 170 Bergers makes that cartridge really impressive and lethal at long ranges as well. Good luck on your build!
That's what I did. It shoots anything I feed it accurately. The only thing to remember is it is not soft shooting like the 6 5 cm. But it is way more versatile and hits with authority!

I had a 700 converted from 243 to 270 WSM. I love the caliber but have had nothing but problems with feeding. The rifle shoots bungholes but doesn't go on hunts because I don't trust the feeding. Just recently converted it to the single stack Wyatt box and will see how that goes. Only holds 2 in the magazine though. Coming from someone who has been in your shoes I'd flip your rifle and start new with a gun that came as a factory WSM.

The bolt face isn't the same. I agree with OLDSCHOOL 7mm08 AI pretty hard to beat. Fire forming brass is easy enough. it can be done without running bullets down the bbl.

My 1-10 twist Tikka 270WSM shoots 170 Bergers just fine.I filed down the bolt stop to use a long magazine .Simple job.On another note I prefer the 140 grain Berger VLD Hunting bullets as they are the most accurate bullet I have used in the 270WSM. Ramshot Magnum and Federal LR Mag primers are the components I use.
