What is the best way to lock the diopter in place on a scope. I considered hot glue on the bottom where it couldn't be seen, but there has to be a better way. Once they are set for me, I want them to stay there. Vortex viper hst 6-24s. Thanks

Ive alwas just used few wraps of electrical tape never know when piece of tape might be handy any way. David

does it turn so easily that it moves out of adjustment frequently? Maybe it needs an adjustment to tension if thats available. How about silicone caulking vs hot glue? Mine that adjust don't move and all the rest have lock rings(Leupold, older Burris, Tasco...)

I'll call vortex, but I don't think the tension can be adjusted. I was thinking hot glue because it can be easily modified or removed. Caulking seems a bit tougher to remove

i use OD green duct tape. i also usually duct tape the scope caps on as i've broken or lost several from trucking through the woods on my property

Maybe I'm too used to my own eyes changing, or I want it to be readily adjustable should others use my scope, but I don't secure it. I simply draw a line across the eye piece to the housing, so I can easily see if it has moved.
