I know 700s, savages and custom actions are no brainers to rebarrel and I've done rigs with those actions. I also have saw fierce arguments in forums on whether the xbolt is worthy of custom rebarrel. I don't want to start a war over the subject but would just like some feedback from some folks who are neither emotionally tied to or absolutely hate the xbolt. I have my own opinion of the xbolt in factory form because I've owned three of them at one time and have one left. I neither hate nor love the xbolt in factory form. I do like most of it's features.

I just had Justin from Spinner's Fit and Chamber rebarrel an X-bolt for me. He told me that he had to soak the barreled action in solvent for about a week to get the barrel off, but from that point on it was business as usual.

I had to remove a 90s model 700 barrel with a pipe wrench. Had a buddy who has had to use a pipe wrench on a couple of 700s as well. I never had much trouble with any savages.
