I have a cooper firearms with a proof research barrel in a 28 nosler. I bought a Swarovski z6 3-18×50 . Before doing any research. I zeroed it in at 200 but because I can only do less then 1 revaluation I can shoot out to 725 . I would like to shoot steel targets at further distance. If I remove the stop I can extend the distance but I cat find any one that will make a custom turret that will go more then 1 revaluation. I'm considering buying a night force scope or is there something else I should consider
Thank you

Consider when you get a new scope to zero at 100 if you are trying to achieve long range to ELR distances.

Why not use a 20moa picatinny rail or use Burris Signature rings with the inserts which can give 10moa, 15moa, 20moa of elevation?

Keep your scope and change your mounting system.
You still have to zero the rifle, and you still only get 1 revolution on the turret with a Z6. It would make no difference at all. That is why I dislike the Z6 line. Stupid turret design. The X5 is the way to go.

Could you explain why using an moa mounting system (10moa, 15moa, 20moa, etc) won't achieve the posters goals. Presumably, you could find a happy medium where zeroing the rifle is possible and getting to 1,000yds is obtainable.

I know many shooters that have had gunsmiths routinely set their rifles up with 20moa bases and they are all able to zero their rifles. Most never shoot out to 1,000yds but the bases don't seem to present a problem.

guys the Z series of Swaro's are NOT ELR scopes ELR , meaning distances past 600 yards. If you want to stay with the beautiful glass of the Swaro, you will need to buy an X-5

OR

Nightforce NX8, its kind of a "lightweight" NXS. I have the Swaro and the NX8. BOTH have their places on my rifles.

The issue with the Z6 line is they are a single rotation turret from the factory. So it doesn't matter if you start 20MOA down, 10MOA down, or level. You only get 1 revolution of the elevation turret.

It is unlike a dual turn, or multi turn, where adding a 20MOA cant rail will add that amount of elevation travel available for use.

Before you consider a 20MOA rail, consider how much adjustment the scope has in MOA's. Then if your elevation adjustment to make up for that 20MOA at a closer range zero, some scopes don't perform well at their limit, parallax can become an issue, then they might not recover from being at their limit like they are supposed to.
You can still shim the rail but it is not such a clean and easy job.

It doesn't matter how much adjustment range the erector has - once the turret is set, the user can only dial one revolution on what is known as a 'single turn turret'.

It is possible to remove the zero stop to 'unlock' the full travel, but then you don't have a zero stop

ELR is starting at six hundred now huh.

I guess that makes that pencil pushing Marine who forgot to fix my deployment pay an "expert at long range" since he qualified with his m16 and iron sights at the 500.

I would look at the zeiss 5x25 for long range good glass very clear!
