What factory 7mm-08 rifle would you choose?

I've got a touch of that gun fever again and am kind of wanting a 7mm-08. I'd like a 24" (#2 or medium sporter contour or whatever size comes on the typical Rem 700 ADL/BDL) and a decent stock. I've always liked the feel of a HS Precision but never had one. I wish Hogue would make a copy of their design in a quality fiberglass without the rubber overmold.

I've got a few Remington 700 and really like them but wondering if the magazine box length in a short action 700 will be too short to hold some of the best BC 7mm bullets? I'd probably start out trying the 162 ELD-X or 165 Sierra Gamechanger but would like a magazine box that could accommodate something like the Berger VLD's around this weight, if possible?

You are doing exactly what I do. Being in Michigan I run into the same thing. I practice with small stuff but it really helps when I'm in texas I can roll out the big boys and be pretty successful.
I do a 6.5 grendel and creedmore mostly.
But am leaning heavily towards a 6br. Or if making one going 30br. Those two are very hard to beat.

You are going to have a tough time finding a 7mm-08 factory rifle with a 24" barrel. They are almost always 22" or shorter. Remington has a model 7 with an hs prec. Stock in 7mm-08 thats nice. Also the christensen arms mesa is a nice light accurate hunting rifle.
