Looking for a New Gun

Currently been searching for a new gun to get myself later on this year.

Wanted to get some opinions on the following options -

Budget (2,000 - 3,000)

Browning X-Bolt Pro - 28 Nosler
Nosler Mountain Carbon - 28 Nosler

Open to any suggestions.

Want to confidently be able to take almost any game in North America at 500 yards without worrying about accuracy of the rifle. Thanks

I think there are better caliber choices! The 28 is not my favorite as to ammo price
availability and barrel life. I bet my 300 WM will do anything a 28 will do at 500 yards! Easier and cheaper. They look great on paper but wait till you start buying 6 or 7 boxes of ammo at a time Then they ain't so cute!

28N would not be in my top ten choices.

When someone is willing to lay out 2-3K for a new rifle I don't think ammo price is gonna be that big of a deal. As to the caliber, for what ever the reason, he seems to be partial to it.. This thread could go on forever... Just like what is the best oil to use in your car?

6.5 CM? I'm not touting it as an Bear or Elk choice but anything else is fine.
It's inherently accurate light to no recoil reasonably priced ammo with lots of bullet choices Wife and Kids can shoot it. All in Pretty Cool!

I shoot the 7mm STW which is the precursor to the 28 Nosler and love it. But if you don't handload I would agree with the above post

I do not handload, and no ammo is not exactly an issue I have friends that can get me cheap prices on ammunition of any brand and caliber. Not even so much worried about what caliber to get the rifle, as much as the rifle itself. Want the best bang for my buck. Anyone ever used a XBolt pro, or nosler mountain carbon? Or have a rifle they would have faith in taking out of the box and shooting 1000 yards to kill?

Note * I also have a 6.5 that I use for whitetail most of the season. Love it. (Browning XBolt Medallion Maple Stock)

Whoa..I have some fairly expensive rigs and I would never pull one out of the box and go hunting? A brand new rifle needs to be shot and shot more before attempting 1000 yards on any animal! Your cart is in front of your horse here.

Not what I meant. I meant without any modification e.g. glass bedding, etc. Sorry for the confusion.

Maybe not crystal clear, but I always assume when someone says, "out of the box" that they mean "without modifications". Not that they are going to take it out of the box and use it without bothering to sight in or get familiar with.

I understand. As I just said, I meant without any modification. Obviously it would have plenty of rounds put through it before I took it into the field. And again, I apologize for any confusion.
