Sfp scope poi change

I have 2 vipers as well, 4-16-50 ffp pst a d a 6.5-24-50 ffp hslr, love them both. That's why I went with the vortex crossfire 2 for the brush gun, have had nothing but good experiences till now. I hope I have the same warranty experience I keep hearing about, first time I will be using it with them!
The one thing about Vortex is that back up their products...excellent service.

the problem is using a Chinese made scope for serious shooting. do yourself a favor and pitch the vortex in the trash can.

Vortex has been awesome to me - all I have had are their Vipers of some flavor and only had to use their warranty due to my own stupidity, never because of scope failure. Still, I would give my money to vortex who is willing to back their product over a company like Nikon who just did a 180 and now has the worst warranty in the industry any day.

Please elaborate on the Nikon statement. I've always had the greatest ease in dealing with Nikon.
Once dropped my monarch binoculars out of a 16' deer tower, they hit the bottom rung on the ladder and dented all up. I sent them in to see if they could be repaired. They sent me a brand new set.

I just bought my first vortex
Viper hslr 6x24x50 with xlr ret.

Nikon just didn't have what I was looking for.

This will be my first experience with ffp scopes. I hope I can figure it out. It's the most $ I've ever spent on a scope.
I wish I could afford a tangent theta but I'd have to get a divorce.

So giving all the negatives on vortex base model scopes... what are some suggestions on other brands under say 600 dollars that have proven reliable if any?
Would love to be able to afford a NF for every gun I have but the bank account doesnt comply with that wish nor does the wife lol

For under $600 you are still in the Vortex PST gen 1, HS-T, HSLR etc. ballpark. These are all a big step up from a crossfire. there really isnt much that can compete with those in that price range.

Check out Meopta new line, the Optika 6. I have the 5-30 and I'm impressed. I'm going to be picking up either a 2-15 or 3-18 next....

You can get some decent Burris Veracity scopes on EBay in that price range. I have bought a couple of 4-20x50s at $400-$500 and they are FFP.

Another option is Riton scopes out of Tucson. I have one and like it so far. There are a couple of other members here that have also had good experiences with Riton.

Theres a thread on rokslide right now where a vortex hst 4-16 dropped its parallax adjustment cap (fell off erectors exposed) during a hike.

My buddy had a nightforce NXS fail on him during a "once in a lifetime" Alaska moose hunt. My point is no scope is bullet proof. I have 2 hs-ts that have been beat to heck and are still rolling with no problems.
