Old translucent tip 225 eldm on the left and new 225 eldm on the right. The newer eld is clearly longer with a longer boat tail. I have shot both of them out to 300yds and poi is the same. Can any one tell me if the b.c. is close to the same for both of them? Any other experience with real world differences between the two would be appreciated.

I went through the same thing last fall and posted on my 300ss thread I believe. There was a huge difference between the two as far as different length measurements (oal, bto, etc.). I had to do a whole new load workup.

Was there any difference in obtained accuracy between the two? Im also guessing that b.c. has to be better on the newer version.

Oh wow, that's worse than my old lot vs new lot of 143eldx. I had to adjust my bc to match when I switched
The bc will probably be a lot better.
If the poi is the same hopefully ur load remains the same

Well, I started and developed my load with the new eld's and ran out. I picked up a box today from a store and to my surprise I got an old lot. So I may just order some of the new 225s.

There was a difference for me between the old and the new. I had to rework up my load. Ended a half grain more powder than before was the sweet spot but with roughly the same velocity. It actually kinda ****es me off that they changed. Neither one is any better to me but I bought another box and after I opened them I noticed the different tip and started measureing them and seen the obvious difference. I guess one more reason to buy in bulk of the same lot number. Lesson learned.

The thing is that both my old and new boxes state .777 g1. Now, that .777 g1 is debatable anyway but I don't see how the old eld can have as much b.c. as the new.

Wish I could have had the old lot for the 300 win mag I sold cause I think that I could have gotten closer to the lands with them vs the new ones.

I have most of a box that a buddy gave that I'm not gonna use I will send them to you if you want them. It's less than 100 but most of a box.
