Butler Creek Flippy Caps

Ordered a set (per advice from others) for my Elite 4200. It is a 6-24x50 , and the #13 fit the eye piece perfectly. Yet the #43/44 that was suggested for the objective, just isnt right. Very tight, and hard to close. It doesn't want to stay closed. Should I go to 45 ? I will get some pics in a little while. Maybe you guys can help me.

I tend to get the next size larger and wrap a round or 2 of electrical tape around the end of the scope to get the fit I want.
