Hearing Protection in Field

I don't hunt much anymore but I use the Howard Leight electronics slim line at the range. I do however double up with foam plugs also as I have lost so much of my hearing shooting over the years.

I wear them all day while hunting. Wish I would have found them years ago I hate to think the damage I've acquired before I had them. Simply by forgetting to put my plugs in or muffs on in the heat of the moment. I still use muffs at the range.
Side note the sound gear work great for live venues like monster jam. I can hear much better but not overly loud.

How are the Sound Gear for water resistance in the field?

Sound Gear, if I will be sitting most of the day by myself. Quiet Band, if I am moving/hiking a lot or hunting with others.

Look at the Ottis Noisebarrier for your backpack hunt. The batteries won't go dead during your hunt. It is an in-ear protection so it won't interfer with hats, stocking caps, rifle butt, etc. It is rechargable and the ear buds will last all day long (probably 3 days as mine kept 70 percent charge at end of a 10-hr hunt day) and comes with a battery pack to recharge the earbuds while you sleep. The battery pack lasts for months of recharging the earbuds and the pack can be charged with a USB cable. It is military grade strong. It attenuates sounds rather than like others that shut off, therefore you can hear through loud noises. It is also not affected by wind so it doesn't give you that irritating rushing sound all day. I have tried many ear buds and this is by far the best for hunting or the range. I love mine.

I use ear pro. Wear them all day. They are custom so no discomfort. Can turn the volume up or down. Wore them in Africa two months ago. Highly recommend

Have had some hearing damage, mostly from hunting with revolvers when my children started hunting. Took the plunge with the sound gear this year. Very satisfied so far.

Another vote for Sound Gear. I bought my set from Len here at the Long Range Hunting store. I wear them all day long as I find them pretty comfortable.

Worn them from New Zealand to New Mexico and in all types of inclimate weather and they've held up very well. I have a decent amount of hearing loss and find the slightly boosted sound amplification to be an added benefit.

x5 on the suppressor. but when it gets cold, sometimes i wear my electronic ear muffs. i can still hear and it keeps my ears warm

I use Etymotic GunsportPRO electronic earplugs. Etymotic even makes versions for law enforcement and stage musicians.

i use the electronic nitro ears. easily the best electronic protection i have ever used.
