Can anyone recommend a good 6" suppressor for a 243 or 25-06 (or something else in that range)? Obviously I don't need it for recoil reduction. I just want something quiet for a 20-22" barrel.

I was thinking I wanted a 243 with a 20" carbon barrel so that with a 7" can, the barrel wouldn't be too obnoxiously long and the can would match the contour of the barrel. Christensen Arms make a Ridgeline in a 6.5 Creedmore with a 20" barrel, but their 243 has a 24" barrel. I really wanted a 243, but now I am considering the 6.5. I am assuming that the 6.5 with a can is going to kick like a 243 without. This is why I really enjoy shooting my current 243. It doesn't kick and a 90 grain Accubond performs great on coyotes up through antelope and deer.

I know it's a little longer than you initially stated at 8.8" but the harvester 300 is a good $300 cheaper than the Thunderbeast Ultra 7 and very similar performance.. You can get a flat front end cap for the harvester and save about an inch but when you use the anchor brake that comes on it spotting hits is noticeable better. I have not had any problems with the ASR mount on the harvester either, its a good setup that locks so it doesn't come loose on bolt guns or ar's. Its not a setup that's any good for mag dumps but its excellent on hunting rounds, I know mine does quite well on a 22-250 all the way to 300 win mag so the 243 and 25-06 should do quite well.

if you are set on length being the driving decision factor buy the ultra 5 but expect it to be slightly louder than the 7 or harvester.

not sure you can change those parts out on a harvester, I know the omega allows it. The omega is one of the shortest, lightest and quietest cans on the market, even compared to the tbac cans

Repeatability and precision are what you should look at, and TBAC is really the gold standard for precision cans. The noise reduction between an Ultra-7 and any other similar 7-inch can is not even worth getting into the weeds about, primarily because there is no industry standard for testing and the 'reported' numbers are just marketing figures.

BUT, a 6.5 Ultra-7 will suppress a 6.5 caliber as well as a 30cal Ultra-9;)

you definitely can, its maybe a more recent development as the harvester has been around for a while and the ASR mount for it as well as the flat front cap have not.
