More News on the 6.5 Creedmoor: U.S. Military and DHS

morning, Jack O'Connor made the 277cal. a name in the
shooting world. in my younger days I had 2 in 700rem.
the 7mm's moved the 277cal over in the shooting
world. time has its preferences. the selection of bullets
made the difference. justme gbot tum.
 
Hindsight we hear how the 5.56 Ammo is Lighter and more lead flying and all that firefight jargon. True Military testing showed shortcomings in the original AR10 and for the most part failed miserably. Yet the same design scaled down performed very well in 5.56 format. I don't know how exactly the chocolate and the peanut butter made the Rees'es as there's much data linking the 5.56 to much older Cartridges through development. In reality the AR10 never amounted to beans and had little to do with the 7.62x51 adoption as it was already in place. All these same shortcomings for the Modern Military Infantry will again come out and I'll bet donuts the Trials will see umpteen failures the "new" 6.8 will dish out. Sometimes I think it's more someone wants some fresh profits over practicality. Uh... why are we still in Afghanistan? Oh oops, don't want to get Political when Defense Contractors stand to make more profit.

Lol this thread. Do some of you even shoot. 6.5 is way easier to make hits with v 308

You must have heard that story in ancient Sanskrit, and particular information was lost in the translation. The truth is a single 5.56mm bullet from an M4 carbine will disable an A380 airliner cruising at 37,000 feet. Eric Swinewell said that on TV and I believe him because I know he has my best interests at heart...

Seems weird to me as well. What about 30mm chain gun ammo from helicopters? Ever watch IR video of Taliban being blown to pieces by the 30 mm?
