Is it just me or is N570 dirty.
I waited for months and months to get some Vit N570 for my 28 nos. However now that I have it ...it seems to be very dirty. It is the lot that has become available in the lasts 6 months. I don't have any right here handy to list the lot #. I got some from Powder Valley a few weeks ago.

I found a decent load and velocity but no better than what I was getting with R33, but accuracy in my 28 starts to fall apart after about 7-8 shots, and it takes some real scrubbing with a bronze bore brush to get all of the powder residue out.

second question....which cleaner is the most effective on powder residue. I typically use Shooters Choice.... as an experiment I conducted several years ago showed it to be better than the competition on copper removal, but for powder residue removal one really has the scrub and scrub.

All powders if not burning completely become dirty. Give us your load and barrel length, maybe someone can help.
I shot N570 for yrs, awhile back, thought far from dirty, 350-400 rds between cleanings. So to me, not dirty, but my loads were warm.
+2 on Boretech C4 to get carbon out.

81.1 grains.
26 inch, 8.4 twist proof CF
3065. Fps.
Berger. 195...close to pressure.
.015 out from lands
Pressure and velocity both start to increase after about a dozen rds

It's been my experience that some of these slower burning powders are considerably dirtier when the bullets are seated a ways off the lands versus near or on the lands.

This particular lot ? ?

Can't really say as I clean my 28N after about 20 rounds and would say N570 is definitely cleaner than R33

I like to use Butches Bore Shine to remove powder fouling followed by Bore Tech Carbon Remover to cut down on carbon deposits.

I ran some numbers, forgot to ask for base to tip OAL of a loaded rd, but by this you are in the ball park. If you not understand it, say so, i'll send it to my phone and circle important boxes, no clue how to on a laptop.

I have shot a couple different 28 noslers and Reloader 33 was the dirties crap I ever shot.. It produces some crappy carbon rings just after the Lands.. You might still have a ring from shooting it.. Clean the first few inches of your barrel with IOSSO and scrub the crap out of it.. Then step your load to 82.0 if you can there is a better node there.. Depends on your pressure though...
N-570 has been a very clean powder for me compared to 33. It is definitely more temp stable too.
I shoot it now in my 300 and 28 nosler.. Great powder and better velocity than I was getting otherwise. Good luck.
I suspect after you get that carbon ring out you will be able to step your load up a little.

never thought about a carbon ring. I actually hope I have one as I'm a little disappointed in my accuracy about 5 inches at 800 yds.....perfect triangle though
