We can't have a scope on ours in Nevada during muzzle loader season. On that note we can't use tritium sights either! Fibers are ok but nothing radioactive or battery powered.
Have you ever put iron sights on a custom barrel? We have been looking at going to muzzle loaders for elk, you get a much better season.

Maybe a peepsight on the rear scope mount. Front sight on the muzzle break.

Rear "Peep rail sight" is sold by ebaco iirc, still need a front--- on muzzle brake would only work if the brake wouldn't move. If you have a " bullet guiding" muzzle there is an area up front that is slightly larger than the rifling to help start the bullet, drill/tap that area for a front sight so nothing affects lands/grooves area.

You can glue that front sight on. Go to an auto body shop and ask to buy a little squirt of body panel glue. It's a two part epoxy and is extremely strong. If you glue to pieces of metal together it's all you can do to get them back apart. I use it to hold bolt sleeves on. When I first tried it I glued half of a 1/4 inch sleeve on a shaft and then turned it back of on the lathe. I could take large cuts in it and it never came off. It comes in a tube that goes on a gun so it's expensive to get started but if you ask a body shop and give them 5 bucks it's a bargin. Shep

That muzzleloader looks sweet! Can you share who built it and what it costs? I'm shooting a Savage smokeless 50 but would love a custom built 45 cal like yours.

Nice rifle Joel. Not sure where u live but I would like to invite U and everyone else to a smokeless mzl match at Dead Zero shooting facility in Spencer TN.
It will be in June 2020. It will be the second mzl match of it's kind held there. Paper and steel targets from 100-1000 yds. Yes, that's right. We shoot mzl's 1000 yds. Check the range out on the web and anyone interested in smokeless mzl's can see some nice rifles at Hankins custom rifles.

As stated I got the work done and Joel finished up with bedding. On top of the action and stock I have about $225 in the breach plug system and break, $350 in machine work to cut and crown, thread muzzle, and thread for the breach plug, and another $400 in the barrel. All totaled up around $3300 before optics.
