Silent member for a while. Finally have a question to ask.
Has anyone used the GRS Berserk stock? Considering one for a Tikka CTR. Worth it or not?
 
I shoot F-class over here in Down Under, have 3 GRS F-class stocks........2 are cracked through the tang and trigger well cutout.
Both have been repaired, but I won't be dropping another dime on a GRS any time soon.

Both rifles are magnums, whether this is the issue or not, I am unsure.
My 6.5x47 has no issues, but a buddy has cracked one twice with a 300WSM. Mine are 264WM and 300WM.

I have 2 of the Berzerk stocks. They are very comfortable to hold onto and shoulder real nice. I have not had any issues with them at all. One is a 6.5CM and the other was on a 7mm rem mag. The LA one is currently sitting and waiting for a new build to come along for it. I have been very happy with my Berzerk stocks thus far.

I have read on couple different forums about cracking issues with their laminate stocks. I have not found any issues posted about their composite stocks yet.
 
I've got a berserk and a couple of the laminated sporter stocks. I like them a lot, just wish the forend was long for the kind of shooting I do with them. The berserk adjusts easily, fits well and ins't overly heavy. the grips are very grippy. the downside to the synthetic stock is a little too much flex in the barrel channel, but there is plenty of space if you're running a sporter barrel. I have my berserk on a older tikka t3 tactical in 223rem with the 20" varmint barrel. works great for that rifle.
 
I hadn't heard GRS stocks cracked. The flex in the fore end of the Berserk did concern me somewhat. The rifle that may get the stock is a Tikka CTR in 6.5 Creedmoor. It has a heavy barrel, close to varmint diameter. Just how much flex does it have?
 
If you're riding a bipod hard and trying to pan at the same time, it'll flex. but normal bench or prone work shouldn't cause you any real problems. I bedded a pic rail to the front of mine with a steel plate in the inside for reinforcement. I can get the forend to twist, but it takes some leaning. I will say this, it'll be one of the most comfortable stocks you've been behind once you get it adjusted right.

My take on this is that the Berserk is a worthwhile purchase being that the fit will outweigh the forearm flex, and the cool factor of the stock is another plus.
 
Agreed, having mine in an almost identical Tikka, I don't think you can do better for fit and function without spending a whole lot more money. Even then, you're only buying a few different features. In all reality, I'd probably look more toward the Bifrost simply because they incorporated the pic rail into more areas for further flexibility. Basically a more feature rich Berserk in better colors.
 
I sold mine. Had a tikka in it. Front end flex was irritating, the rubber laid hand grip areas provided plenty of grip but everything sticks to them. My adjustable stock didn't fit correctly.I wouldn't buy another, I'll go a manners or a chassis next time.
 
I have a savage model 10 I just dropped in one. The flex was a concern, so I beefed it up with some epoxy bedding (weight isn't an issue with me). Now I really have to lean into the rifle to notice flex and I really don't shoot that way anyways. Feels the best, even when shooting beside my MPA and MDT chassis. I would use it more often for PRS competitions if it was more accessory friendly. Still tossing around ideas on how to mount an arca rail to the forend. My opinion is its worth a look for the comfort factor.
 
The Bifrost looks almost the same as the Berserk. Is it stiffer, or are the rail slots the main difference?
I'm not sure I want to get a stock at that cost and have to fix it before the rifle is installed.

I have bought Four GRS stocks for my son's guns...300 Weatherby....they love em! I would probably have a few too.......if they made them LEFT HANDED
