Now I just need to figure what rings and bases are the best for the money. Looking to shoot the gun out to about 500 yards. Any help is appreciated. I will be putting a muzzle break on the gun in the near future as well.

I really like Talley lightweights on my hunting rifles as well.

My newest toy came with a 20moa rail. I went with some DNZ freedom reapers and they seem awesome. I have some Leupold Mark 4's on a 6mm creedmoor that I really like. By far, the Talleys are the cheapest and best bang for your buck.

I've used the Warne Maximas in the past, but have started to move towards the Talley LW ring base combo. They're about the same price (well under 100$). I think The Talleys are available in an extended mount, but I'd check their website. If you're looking to save weight, go with the Talleys.

Purely from a mounting perspective I've come to hate and will not buy rings that split vertically. Such as the Warne Tacticals. The other rings that I avoid at all costs are the old Weaver rings with a formed steel top that are hooked and screwed to AL bottoms. Those are a serious challenge to getting the recticle square.

If you're trying to save weight the talley light weight have worked well for me. If weight is not a consideration there are many quality ring and base combos to choose from.I have used Badger ARC Burris signature Seekins all with good results. Define the usage select the solution.Good luck.

I myself need to check out The I myself need to check out The Talley rings

I've always been partial to the Warren and Nikon brand but with the amount of sentiment here I think it's worth a shot

Thanks all
