338 Edge missfire

Measure your firing pin protrusion after you disassemble and clean the bolt, spring and pin as well as double check how far you bumped that shoulder IMHO.
You're right, I did bump it back to far, from now on I will just next size until it's absolutely necessary to bump back and I'll be a lot more careful during the process.

You should bump back .002 to .003 every time not just when they get right. That the problem with neck sizing. They don't all get tight at the same time. Then you have some that fit right. Some that just got and some you feel when you close the bolt. This will 100% of the time put vertical in your group. If you bump .002 every time they all fit the same and are definatly more accurate. You never want to feel the brass when you close the bolt.

I would never buy or use a neck sizing die. None of my bench rest or hunting buddies use them. FL every time.
