.243 ttsx load issue

Sorry my fault must have been reading to many other things while I was typing. Load data was 42 to 46 and I was still getting pressure at 41.5. I edited my original post with correct numbers

Update I tried 40.5 gr of IMR 4350 today and still getting pressure and the chronograph read 3433. I really like the TTSX in my 300 win mag but I am at the point of saying screw it and sticking with 87gr Berger's in my .243

Whew! At least that's cleared up.

Well maybe not, still scale calibration problem, or at the least verify it is correct and level. Are you sure it's imr4350 and not something else that got mixed in container?

How full is the case after pouring in powder?

I tried loading for a fresh container of IMR 4350 with the same results. I checked my scale with another scale everything seems to be working as it should.

Are the cases undersized? Meaning have they been sized too small. I had a 3006 for that had been shaved off the bottom and I set it up as normal and when fired was blowing and flattening primers.

I have been using the same brass ran through the same dies with other loads in this gun with no problems

34.1 is also a listed starting load on the Hodgdon website for Varget with the 80gr GMX. I tried a load with 34.5 gr a Varget and got pressure signs with that load also. I do not have a speed for this load as I did not have a chronograph at the time. I have had zero issues with every other bullet I have tried in this gun except the 80gr Barnes ttsx

I would mic the bullets to make sure they are not the 25 cal. 80's.

I actually just did that. I checked 5 different bullets from the same box they all came in at .242. To double check I also checked some of my 87 gr Berger's that I had on the bench they came in at .243

How much velocity are you expecting-3400 would seem to be top end, and pressure signs with a particular load wouldn't be surprising?

I'm not trying to get 3400 I am just not sure why I am getting pressure and that high of velocity with such a light load. I have never been 1.5 gr under a starting load and getting the speed that is supposed to be with the max load

Are you using magnum primers? I have some of the same bullets just haven't loaded them up yet. Now I'm curious to see what might happen in my wife's 243..

No not mag primers. I would not be worried about trying them in your wife's rifle as the problems I am having are not the norm. Lots of people have loaded these bullets in .243 with great success and I have used them in my 300 win mag. My problem seems to be a one off that makes no sense
