My daughter is starting to hunt. Just got her a cheap T/C Compass in 308 with threaded barrel. She has been shooting my guns with reduced loads. Bought this on the cheap in case she doesn't take to it but wanted her to have her "own" rifle. I need a recommendation for a screw on brake. I have lots of factory ammo that she can shoot that is actually cheaper then reloading. Anybody got any ideas? Yep she will always be in muffs when shooting and hunting... Thanks

I like area 419 brakes, you can also look at muzzle brakes and more. Don't need a whole lot with that 308. About any self timing brake would work. I just try and stay from brakes that need washers to time. You can also watch the classifieds and maybe find a RPR take off brake that someone don't need. They work just fine and are two piece.

419s are nice. I have APA fat bastard. It's nice but when zeroing I forgot to drop my peltors once and wow. Hope this deafness isn't permanent. Lost 20 pts in 4 and 5k.

I will look when I get home I might have a brake sitting around you can have brother. I know for a fact I got a TBAC compact brake not being used but you will have to use shims. But if you don't care, you can have it, they are pretty effective.
Any idea where or what shims I would need? I think the T/C 308 is 5/8-24 thread. Thanks

U can jut google it man don't really know where u can get a shim kit. Here are the two brakes I found. One is tbac and the other is a silecerco ASR I believe. Both are 30 cal and 5/8-24. Both are suppressor mounts but will function just fine as brake. Just make sure to get a legit shin kit and not a crush washer.

I like the Micro bastard. Loud as any directional brake but very effective in a small package. If she shoots prone she won't get a face full of gravel like with the multi directional ones.
