Eldm preferred jump.

Honestly, I built a 300 Win Mag with a heavy barrel to shoot a mile target (bucket list). I started out using the 225 ELDMs, and I had no luck with gaining any accuracy with them by adjusting seating depth. This was the first time that this has happened to me. I finally gave up on them, after only getting around .85moa out of them. I switched to 215 Bergers, and cut the group sizes in half, and made the first round hit at a mile on the first outing. Hornady makes a bunch of great bullets, and I use a lot of them, but I don't think that this one is for me, in this caliber.

I set all mine at .020 unless I have to mess with mag length like this **** PRC. I have AICS mags for the MDT chassis and thinking it is going to be 60-90 for mag function. Grrrr


On another note I have done 30, 60, 90, 120 testing for giggles and they call shot fine but .020 has been the sweet spot in my 6.5-284's and creeds.

My Browning Hell's Canyon has a long throat so I just seat 212 ELDX just long enough to fit inside the magazine 3.595" (base to tip). Shoots right at 1 MOA

.338 LM, I am using 0.018 ± 0.001 off the lands. I tried 0.010 immediately did not try another there. I went as high as 0.040 and noticed my accuracy was lost.

Glad to hear that, should be same mag length for 7mmRM. I just worked up some loads for a friends Hells Canyon Speed and didn't have the magazine. 3.315 is what I finished with @0.025" off lands and sounds like that will fit in mag just fine with Nosler ABLR 168's.

300 WSM with 208's. Started touching then .005, .010, .015, then the magical .020 hit the sweet spot...as with 95% of my rifles....but keep in mind, 300 yards is as far as I shoot.(hunt)

The 225gr. ELD-M with 87.5gr.'s of Retumbo shoots great in the 300 R.U.M.

I use the .020 but I use the 208 grain and am getting .3/8" group. Been using it for years got same results from their 208 Amax bullets too. Only switched because of the deformation and b.c. concerns the company was having.

I have been using the 208s for the past 2 years in both 300 wm and 300 Weatherby. Great performers. Just about the same results of 3/8"groups.

It's different for each rifle and load in my experience in load development for each one. One rifle I have to set the berger back a little likes the eldm right up against it but I also think that's just because of the powder and primer combo.
I push all my bullets as hot as I can with the best group then fine tune the group with seating depth. So its different on every rifle.
