Mod 70 Action Wrench

I made my own, it is a rear entry design that passes all the way to the front lug recesses.
I made it this way due to receiving an action job that was visibly twisted from a rear entry only wrench having had WAY too much torque applied to the barrel.
I refused to fix it and actually cut it in half, a new receiver was in order.

All you need is 3/4" hex bar and have it milled with a little slop to match the lug recesses, never fails.

Cheers.

I have one I made for a Rem, made out of a piece of barrel, works great. Like your's it goes all the way to the front.

Was just hopping to avoid making another one. Most of the time it is cheaper in the long run to buy one.

Years ago the little pully that drives the beater bar on the the wife's Hoover broke.
Hoover wanted $11.00, no way I was paying that for this little pulley.

So, I turned one out on the lathe, when I went to part it off, I broke a $35.00 parting tool...... grrrr

It got worse, I discovered it was a left hand thread..... Double grrrrrrrrrrr

I had to run to a specialty hardware store to purchase a $18.00 left hand tap.

Since then, if I can buy it, I will. Only make it as a last resort.

I believe my initial purchase was a Davidson brand barrel vice and action wrench.
Look up Davidson, they used to be sold by Brownells.

Cheers.
