Fierce Firearms

KyCarl I agree but I guess I was gullible, & figured a person could trust the company to do as they say. When they emailed the work order I should of called then, as it did not include the completion date! If I have not heard by end of the week they will start getting calls

I went through the very same thing with Alamo Precision Rifles! I put 3 grand down
and waited and waited lie after lie. Well a year after it was promised I started
leaning on them... Wife sent a nasty registered letter on her letterhead with threats of action to recover my money. It worked I got the rifle but I'll never go to Alamo again!

I agree it's not right but I think if you start having that attitude in this industry your options will be pretty limited. I don't think I've ever gotten a stock or action that was not already sitting on a shelf on time. Not one custom rifle I've ever ordered has been on time. Some are better than others but...

Sometimes builders are at the mercy of vendors, that being said they shouldn't promise a date they cant keep.
I would choose a builder who is good #1
Second who has got the parts on hand.

When you take my money and give me a date it's a done deal!
I don't care about vendors or anything else! You took my money and that's the end of the story.Vendors are your problem not mine! If you can't deliver..Just say so give me a choice! As long as they are allowed to get away with it they will! If people start saying NO
things will change. The power of the $$$!
I said " Well OK I guess" too many times. No more.

I've had two rifles built, actually rebuilt same one. Smith one made me a woods gun in .257 so barrel heavy it was truly terrible. After using it for only sitting in stands I sent it to smith number 2. I just wanted a caliber change and a proof barrel so it was lighter. After a loooong time and no proof barrel we got a lilja #4 fluted in no time and it is quite a bit better. Craftsmanship truly perfect and it's a sweet shooting rig. I am now going to gather my components and reach a build timeline so more predictable results can be found!! I think I have the right guy now and he did great work so third time a charm hopefully...

Timelines in the firearms industry would never fly in other businesses. As hunters and shooters I think we are the most patient people around. Coincidentally my manners EH1 is a month past said completion date. Shouldn't have to wait 7 months. I'm in Canada so probably takes even longer to get stuff. I will say my rbros 6.5x47 was finished two months early. Pleasant surprise and great company to deal with.

You guys ever notice no one posts much about HS Precision rifles? I have two. First was used at 2800 second new at 4200. Both are shooters with little to no load development.
Isn't that how it should be?

Rharfo thats exactly the way it should be. Rbros gave me a load with my 6.5x47. It shoots so good I've never tried another powder or bullet. I'm sure I couldn't improve on it.

You can look at getting time frames moved up a little by gathering all the parts yourself before sending the stuff to a Smith, only downside is may be a little more costly and make sure its parts the Smith is comfortable working with, barrel, action etc.

Just got a Fierce edge in 26 Nosler back from Fierce.

I purchased new in the box with test target from Sportsmans Warehouse in September of 2020. Took it to the range, after firing first shot, the bolt could be raised but not opened. Had to tap open with a ram rod. Tried different brands of ammo, full length resized cases and loaded, still same issue. At best gun would shoot a 3 inch group at 100 yards and had to tap open bolt with ram rod on every shot and there were scratches on the cases after getting them out. The stock also was terrible, the camo finish just came off. Barely scratch with fingernail and it came off.

I called Fierce and sent it back through Sportsmans warehouse. Sportsmans warehouse took forever, right at a month, to get the gun to Fierce, but it got to Fierce in early October of 2020.

In my opinion, possible worst customer service I have ever dealt with, almost no communication, talked with 3 people there including the owner. I was told something different by each one of them and they almost never responded or answered questions. Finally got the gun back yesterday. Said they polished the chamber and replaced the extractor. Supposedly it shoots under half inch at 100 yards will find out later in the week and they put a different stock on the gun. Worst experience I have ever had with a company, especially over a rifle that is sold for close to $3,000 and was not functioning correctly when taken brand new out of the box. The people at Fierce do not communicate with each other and they for sure don't communicate with their customers. I am hoping the gun is a shooter but the experience I have had with them almost makes me not want it even if it happens to be the best shooting gun I own.

Unfortunately this is an experience I see from people on different sites from alot of
" so called" semi- custom box guns its exactly why I stay away from all of them.
I prefer one off gunsmiths that I trust there reputation or know there work is good from past experiences.
