Replacement for Retumbo - 28 Nosler

I am with Calvin on the fact that I use the original 7828 do to the fact that it fills the case more than the ssc.
Now I am just trying to decide if I should buy up all the 7828 I can find or try to developed new load with 7977 or 8133 since they are Enderon powders and supose to be more temp table.
Thanks for the confirmation on the discontinuation of 7828.
No problem, I don't have many people to talk about gun stuff with (at a level of understanding beyond "shoot the gun, it kills things) so I enjoy sharing whatever news I encounter here.
I don't even use 7828 much anymore, I've switched to the temp stable double base powders and they are indeed very good. Temp is important, there are few places that get as cold as it does here in the winter while getting hot in the summer - continental interior towards the north end of things - this last winter we saw 3 days go down to -52 Celsius (-62 Fahrenheit) and most summers we still see a few days hover around 35 c (95 f). Not that I go out shooting on those extreme days, I don't hate myself or have anything to prove, but it's not unlikely to do load development in +30 (86f) and be hunting in December at -30 (-22f). That's a pretty dramatic difference, most shooters don't live in places that swing quite that much, and I have indeed experienced the ill effects of temperature sensitivity.
But the thing is, 7828 is what I use as the yardstick, the measure, the control. It's so easy to work with and find a great load for compared to many. If I'm unsure if my load or rifle is realizing its potential for velocity and accuracy and consistency with an untried powder it's a given to ask "well how does it stack up against a 7828 load?" If it can match or beat the speed and groups it's a great load.

VV N565 is the same burn rate and temp stable.

Dont see a lot of places sell Vihta Vuori around here. Or maybe I just haven't noticed it since I have not really looked for it.

I do think I will give the IMR 8133 a try In my 7mm RUM and in the two custom 28 Noslers that a couple of my buddy's built that i will be developing loads for!

I know what you mean Calvin about the temp stable double based powders as i have had good results with RL 16 in my 6.5 cm.
