210 Accubond LR

I don't know how they perform on game but I shot this group yesterday with my .300 win mag. Loaded them to mag length 3.600" and worked up in half grain increments from 77grains with H1000. Shot 1-2 MOA until I hit 78.5 grains.

0.5" center to center at 100 yards.
I would have thought 78.5 grains of H1000 would be really hot. Nice group though.

Nosler manual has 79 as max with 210s. I had no pressure signs even at 79. So I'm thinking I'm good to go. I'll be playing with this load and a 214gr Hammer Hunter load that shot .4 MOA with 78 grains of H1000. Im gonna tweak seating depths to see if I can tighten them up anymore.

I used the 210 nosler ablr factory round in my 300 Rum Sendero and they shot amazing! Great on game also . This was before I started reloading and picked up a few 338 's ! I still have a stack of them for the two other Rums !!
I shot a long range course with the Sendero a few years back and rang steel at 1400 yards with the factory rounds .
I know where my old Sendero is ...I need to get it back !!
I would buy them again for sure !

I keep hearing great Sendero stories. Someone here ended up with mine, I think he was rebarreling to 338 Edge.

I shoot the 168ABLR in my 7 mag. Did a penetration test this past season from 100-230 yards on 100 lb doe and 230 lb hog. All deliberately shot through both shoulders. 1"-2" wound Chanel's with pass through sin all shots.

Am loading the 210s in my 300 RUM for this year!

My node for the rum is at 3020 so hopefully it will work. I have heard of guys taking along factory loads for close range shots. Not sure about that???

I will try it on deer and hogs before my trip to Idaho next year.

2 years ago I killed an elk at 500 with Bergers from a friends gun. He is a long range competitor with a souped up RUM. Even at 500 they were blowing up on impact. Took 3 well placed rounds before he went down. But the bullet performed well at over 600.

So I'm definitely doing real world tests before deciding on which bullet for elk.

I've used lots of ammo from Doubletap, and Underwood for my pistols. Never tried rifle ammo from either. But during the 4th, DT has a 35% off and free shipping code. So I'm going to order their 300 WM loaded with the 210 ABLR. My only concern, is when I see "long range", it makes me think frangible at closer ranges. Speed is advertised at 2825, but with Doubletap I'd have to see it to believe it. Their 10mm ammo is 100-200 fps slower than advertised.

Any thoughts on the 210 at ranges under 400?
I've used Underwood's rifle cartridges but not Double Tap's and they've been consistently sub moa. As far as the ABLR goes, it's been very accurate(5/8" 3 shot @ 100yds, 168gr.) in my Savage 10 .308 win. 24", as well as the 190gr. (1/2"-3/4") in both my custom .300 wsm long range setup and my .300 wsm AR-10. The loads were all Nosler custom factory ammunition though, as I didn't have the time to reload for those rifles. As far as on game performance goes, I can only speak to the 168gr. ABLR's abilities. Last fall my youngest son was able to harvest a large bodied mule deer buck at a little over 200 yards with a broadside complete pass through shot. The buck dropped like a stone with massive internal damage to the heart and lungs, 1" entry wound and about a 2" exit wound. Granted the .308 Win at 200 yards is definitely slower than than the .300 Win at that distance, and the s.d. on the 210gr is greater than the 168gr. I've also great success with the 200gr barnes LRX and the 200gr federal Edge TLR in both accuracy and on game performance when pushed hard out of both my .300 wsm and .300 Weatherby. Hope that helps.

My son shoots the 168 ABLR's and from 30 yards to 565 yards they both looked identical with exit holes about the size of a half dollar from his 280 Ackley at 2711 fps. I was a little worried at first about them opening at close range but after he shot the one at 30 yards I was convinced.

Putting a 210 from a .300 RUM into a bull at 80 yards was enough for me. The white tipped ones are a better bullet. mtmuley

Several years ago I bought two boxes of 100 210gr 30 cal ABLR to load in my 300RUM but due to the super accuracy of my 200gr Accubonds @ 3200fps loads I never did load them.

A couple months ago I was reloading for my 22" barreled T/C Prohunter in 30-06 I load 165gr Accubonds @ 2880fps looked over on the bench and saw the 210gr ABLR so decided to give them a try.

Loaded them with RL22 got 2500fps and under 3/4" 100 yard groups and I am still 1gr from book max load.

I now see the potential of using these bullets in this 30-06 going work up with RL22 but also want to try RL17 to step up the speed even more.
