Range Pet Peeves!

I hate the knuckle heads sweeping me at the smaller indoor ranges... so much so, there are several I will not use. Even when drought precludes use of BLM land near by.

I know this will tickle some people's feathers. But, I hate it when people bring their dogs to the range (we have an unsupervised range), let them loose, and it becomes your responsibility to know where the dogs are at, because they are usually never by the owner. Running in the shooting lanes, slobbering on your rifle in the rack.
And my favorite- you're trying to concentrate on your shot and someone starts sniffing your balls.

So had a thread similar to this and it got closed up because it got a little rowdy! So please pay attention to posts to keep it moving. Everyone has their quirks or procedural approach at the range. What is the #1 thing that ruins your range day done by other range members?
Getting flagged from some newb that has no business renting a gun due to lack of saftey training and no range safety officer to correct their mistake. When you try to tell them what they are doing they come off like they know everything and think your the whole because you don't feel like getting shot by them.
You complain to the safety officer you have to go find and than your the bad guy.
I think all ranges should have a safety course everyone should have to complete before they can shoot. Kinda like a hunters safety course. If you can shout good range practices than or have a cow or hunting license the course could be waived.
Just my two cents for what it's worth.
But tell me you have not been there before.

(at my private home range)..I spent HOURS developing loads for a "friend's" 300 Blk Out. 8 loads, 5 of each. I placed em in 2 mags.. so they would come out in proper order...set up the target...Bullseye Camera....LapTop...Chronograph...Lead Sled, checked for Horses and Cattle...We are good,Range is Hot....10 seconds later the mag is empty and he explains that the first shot was a good load, hand me another mag...GEEEZZZZ!!! Why this story? Don't assume your friend that you've hunted with for 40 years, knows anything about Range Rules...or load development..HA!

My greatest peeve (and I'm not alone) is during holidays primarily, we get a lot of Commifornian's that visit our range. You can always tell by the "Mag Dumping", etc. That's really not a problem seeing as how there are so many "Regulations" at Cali ranges. ( I use to live there ). So they come here to Arizona to unload. Still, really no problem. But it seems consistently that they somehow love to shoot up our target frames on purpose. Then they leave and we are stuck with a bunch of target frames that need repairs or get thrown away. It puts a burden financially on the members of our club here at the range. Don't know but that just really chaps my hide!
