If you could only have 3 long guns, which would you choose?

243, 270, 300 WM

Geez!!!---took me forever just to narrow down to four rifle calibers--now narrow it down even more?--sure glad I don't have to!--
But if I had to choose just three.
308--m1a --- no way I 'll ever get rid of it in this crazy world!
375 h&h(or ruger)--good for anything that walks.
Savage24-- I get to cheat-- 223 and 20gauge. Cast loads work about like my 22 mag and are cheaper.

.22lr, 7mm Rem mag, 12 ga.

.22 rf, 6.5 creedmore, 338 lapua improved.

If including all long guns I would have .22 rf, 300 WM, and 12ga.

Lol I guess that means the .22 is the best round ever made. Maybe it should be renamed .22 creedmore rf.

Thank god I'm not limited to 3. There are so many I would miss.

Could we just narrow them down to 3 DOZEN centerfire rifles?

Thank goodness we can have whatever we want, that we can afford! But, to narrow down to 3 must have centerfire rifles, my choices would be:

223 Rem with a 24" Bartlein 8" twist 5R Sendero barrel, on a Remington 700 SS Mil-Spec action, with PTG M5 style botton metal for AR magazines, bedded HS Precision Kevlar stock with palm-swells, NF 30 MOA Picatinny rail, SWFA SS 3-15x42mm FFP MOA-Quad reticle scope in Seekins Low rings. Love this rifle!

30-06 AI with a Rock Creek 24" 9" twist 5R Sendero contour barrel, Winchester M70 Classic (CRF) Nitrited action, PTG M5 style DBM bottom metal for AI center-feed magazines, pillar bedded brown/brown laminate Pro Varmint stock, Seekins 20 MOA Picatinny rail Leupold VX-5 HD 3-15x44mm scope in Seekins Low rings. (You can still, very accurately, use the standard 30-06 SPRG ammunition in this setup). I currently have this configuration with an amazing Rock Creek barrel but, not AI yet. The 280 AI with Bartlein 24" 8" twist 5R Sendero contour barrel on the same setup as above; Winchester M70 action, etc., will work just as well, though brass might be a bit of a pain to make in a SHTF scenario.

375 H&H Mag with a 24" Bartlein 10" twist 7R Sendero contour barrel with Safari iron sights on a Winchester M70 Classic (CRF) Nitrited action and steel hinged bottom metal/trigger guard pinned shut, pillar bedded laminate brown/brown Pro Varmint stock, Leupold VX-5 HD 2-10x40mm scope with Leupold QD rings and mounts.

The 223 Rem and 30-06 SPRG are both sub 1/2 MOA 5 round groups, the 375 H&H Mag is sub 3/4 MOA 5 round groups, and with these 3 rifles, and proper bullet selection, I could tackle any game in the world! Maybe not the ideal for all scenarios but, certainly doable...

Hey SMK 1000 it would be fun to take you duck hunting. Can I shoot your limit too -

.220 Swift, .270 win and .338 win mag were my 1st three.

I guess if you had to have only 3 , you could squeak by with a 25-06 , a 270/270wsm and a 300wm/300wsm but why in the hell would someone want to do that !

Better make that 4 long guns , you got to have a 22

Mostly the first two as the Ought-6 gets shelved for a few years...

I'll burn up the 308 barrel then sell it...

Its been a long road to finally put my sights on owning 1 gun for all my big game and target shooting needs...

22 long rifle, 375 Ruger, and a 12 gauge shotgun. Covers everything in the world!

22 long rifle for small game for the pot.
270 winchester for deer sized gane thru elk.
35 whelen for anything else, grizzly etc..
