The 6 creedmoor will do that, no need to break out the big stuff.

Chiming in on the 6mm Remington. Superior to the .243 in case capacity and with a longer neck, faster 1:9 twist that can handle heavier bullets than .243 - but not so fast as to vaporize 55 grain lightweights, which it fires at higher muzzle (Swift-like) velocity than either .243 or Creedmoor. The extra couple of grains of case capacity provide a velocity boost, even with factory ammo - which may be loaded to lower pressures. When loaded to .243 pressures, the 6mm outranges the .243 by around 200 f/s or more in muzzle velocity with heavier bullets.

I pulled the trigger and ordered a Savage 110 Desert Tactical 6mm Creed. w/ 26" threaded bbl.

I will still continue to reload for my Grandsons .243 Win. and consider it to be a superior hunting Rifle.

There ya go! As a mostly Savage Guy, the stock's still leave much to be desired, but all else is top notch manufacturing.

Velocity, velocity, velocity?! I can get max velocity in my rifles, but it's not always the most accurate and the brass for sure don't last.
Velocity without accuracy and repetition is nothing. We're shooting at stuff, a long way away here, and a moderately higher velocity, high BC bullet will get you there better than a, max velocity lower BC bullet, all times.
