Looking For a New Place to Hunt Prairie Dogs

Been hunting P-Dogs in South Dakota for 5 years.
First on Indian grounds, then two different ranches. The first rancher started poisoning the dogs, that was the end. Second ranch just not enough dogs and they were shot at enough they were educated.
Looking for a new place, any suggestions or do you have a place? I live in Michigan.

Still doing research myself, I've had good results with Google-Earth. I use that once I get a general location to look over.

I use maps & whatever I can.

We just got back yesterday, three days of GREAT shooting. One time I slowed to count pups on a mound, there were 9. After done counting I resumed shooting.

Did you hunt private Ranches or Public Land?
Were you hunting with a bolt gun or AR style?
How many rounds did you go through?

I've got nothing to offer you, other than that dog towns are visible on Google Earth and it's quite straightforward to match up public land. I've successfully scouted WY, SD, and MT for dogs this way. Then hunted for free on public land. I'm sure there's better spots on private, but I still easily burned 300 rounds a day.

View attachment 139327 I've gone to public access type land, no guide. I did use a guide a few times by White River, SD.

This last trip my Son had a custom AR with a 22" Shilen barrel, I used a Win Mod 70 'Coyote' in 223, just a short time with my A-Bolt Varmint in 204.

A bolt gun is plenty for me, easier to claim the spent brass too. Next time I need to rotate in my custom 22-250.
