Lets Discuss “Range Etiquette” for a moment!

First, this guy acts like everyone should know he is developing a Load. Majority of shooters don't craft their own ammo, so they don't know. They may just think you are OCD. Pretty sure most ppl figure out what you are fairly fast. Not surprised that the Usual Suspects here would agree with his OP. Probably should find a place in the sticks to shoot at. Private Ranges have other ppl that may ask questions, chit chat, communicate. You know, Human things.
Why are you talking around me. I started this thread you can address me, name is Dan and its not "this guy". Hey man if you like to be chatty Kathy at the range, knock yourself out, have fun. I am not that person, and I prefer to be left alone while I shoot, when I am done we can talk about anything. Jesus Mary and Joseph! Frankly I don't really care what people are shooting, what kind of groups they are shooting or want to know about their life, I really don't care because I have limited time and I am there to shoot.

Private, public or club, who's shooting where?

I shoot Public and Private
Before I got stationed out here previously I was in Clovis NM and their was BLM every where to shoot. Here there is very limited BLM except for one big piece that is about 100 miles away which is normally packed also and lots of people riding quads and what not. I shoot now in a Gun Club which is simply a glorified private range. They do however have PRS matches, F-Class type deals once a month. Pretty neat range.

If you don't know read the posts
If you don't know read the post! Good one stupid. Why don't you read my post, I never said I didn't want someone to use the range and I am supposed to be there by myself. I just said don't talk to me while we are there together. Keep your trap closed, your brass off me and if there is room how about a space or two between us if you are running a big *** brake! Thanks for your input.

There's people who ask for help, and there's people who are totally disrespectful. People have to choose where their breaking point is. I don't tolerate spraying ammo into other people's targets, I don't tolerate people shooting my steel without asking, our local range is set up to provide backstop and a solid bench, you bring your own targets and steel. This is explained to the guest when they sign in. They are reminded to be respectful to others property. It's like what ever they were told, they totally forgot five minutes later when they are on the range.
If they forgot or disregard the ruled so quickly, you have to wonder about their attention to safety.

I don't mind people talking to me or asking me questions... Just don't do it when the range is hot, and don't expect me to go into great detail and show you exactly how something works and all it's features and functions...I'm not a retail store or a YouTube video.

I use suppressor but use muffs at the range. I'm not an idiot i

know most folks don't have them. As for brass the range I use have portable deflector boards that can be place between stations.

Last post on subject some folks can not admit they are wrong.

Although Remmy700 come off as a pompous, arrogant, self absorbed elitist. He is right about having someone set up camp right next to you when there are plenty spaces to choose from. It like parking away from everyone to protect your vehicle and come back to find some douchewad parked inches away from you.
I am sure Remmy is a nice guy. Just focused on business at hand.

I appreciate that.. I think lol. Naw man and I am nothing like that man. I started this thread more as a rant/comedy type deal for people to share there pet peeves at the range. And it simply got construed. When I do load work is the only time I don't care to socialize. Any other time on the steel range or the 1K or bow range or even pistol range its all fun but load work is my time to pay attention and take my time. I help people all the time I meet at the range, I have brought people to my house to mount scopes, show them how to really clean a rifle, even let them borrow my stuff to reload some test loads for themselves. But when I get attacked like many others I get on the defensive and say things I don't really mean. Sorry fellows. I love guns, reloading and most of all I love this site and the relaying of information back and fourth. Again I apologize if I come off as an A hole as I totally am not.
