I spent the last week of the spring bear season in NE Oregon with my 71 year old dad and 14 year old son. We had a great time making memories, successful hunt was only a bonus.

My dad made a great shot on this big boar at 545 yards with his 300 Ultra with 210 Bergers.

That is awesome! All of it.
Looking forward to getting out on a Bear hunt with both my Boys on Father's Day weekend!
Good choice on gear!
I love my Kuiu clothing and EXO pack.

Nice bear that you have there. The best trophy that you have from that entire hunt is that last photo with your son and father together. That photo is priceless in my book!! I black bear hunt with my son to make those same photographs/memories with him. I am pushing 73, we just built two rifles to shoot more frequently at the range. Yesterday we spent the entire day at the range just breaking in barrels and making great memories like yours. It is nice to see your dad still up and able to get out to make those memorable trips. You are correct in your original post, trophies are on the wall, memories like this are in the heart and preserved there forever. Great post thanks for sharing it with us.

Thanks everyone for nice comments. I definitely cherish these days, and am truly blessed to have such a great dad and son in my life.
