7mm sherman max

Oh! I thought you already had it in stock with the last brass pic that was posted. Didn't know that wasn't it. I don't even have my stock yet...6 month wait  So no real rush for me unfortunately.
No, that was the first pic from ADG. They are doing some today and it will be shipped with the other 7 stuff in about 2 weeks

So does one need to create a false shoulder on the 7saum neck for fire forming, or does it headspace off the current saum neck/shoulder junction?

So the brass and dies will be in stock in a month or so then? So is the headstamped brass already fireformed then to? What freebore will be used with the 195 eol? This desert tech has a 4" mag so the longer the better.

Brass is at ADG now and I will have it before the end of the month. It is head spaced for the Max chamber and needs to be fire formed like an A.I. It has .200 free bore built into the reamer so is set up pretty well for the 195 already but you could throat it more if you wanted.

I'm really interested in chambering my upcoming tikka build in the 7 Sherman max. Can you tell me all the benefits of the max over the saum performance/efficiency/accuracy wise? Looking to run 180 Bergers.

Also what is the timetable for the availability of reamer, dies & brass for the max? Thank you elkaholic

The Max has several benefits over the Saum starting with velocity. Because of the case design and better brass, we fully expect it to run equal to, or more likely above, wsm velocity. It should max very close to 3000' with a 195 in a 26" barrel and the180 hybrids should reach 3100'. The minimal body taper and 40 degree shoulder will minimize case stretching and reduce bolt thrust allowing brass to hold up better to higher pressure. The bullet will be seated correctly in the neck allowing for full use of available case capacity. These are all the reasons that the SS is such a stellar performer, and built on an action that will allow 3.1" coal, the max will be also. Even a 700 SA could be used effectively with something like a Bainey box.
The brass and Reamers are currently available and dies will be here in July.

Thanks much for the reply. In your opinion, would the Berger 180 hybrid or 195 eol be a better choice for performance & consistent accuracy out of a tikka long action & 26" barrel that's gonna be a hunting rifle with some occasional long range target shooting?

One last question regarding the max. Is load data gonna be the same as the 7 saum & just watch for pressure as you go up on the upper end?
