Need optic input

i will be buying a new scope later today or tomorrow for a new rifle & would like some advice. I'm looking at the leupold vx5 3x15x56 cds or a Leica er 4x20x50 with magnum ballistic reticle that's a demo scope. I own a vx5 3x15x56 so I know how it is but not the Leica. How's the glass on the er models? Depending on which I get it will either be going on my 7 rem mag build or a 264 win mag build. The Leica demo is $50 cheaper than a new vx5.

Lieca glass is up there with the best like Swaro and the likes. I am not sure of the other features of the Lieca though.

As far as glass it's top of the line. I even like it better than swaro. But that's my eyes. If it was me Leica would be the route I'd go. Every thing I have from them is top notch I'd expect nothing less.
Only issue may be warranty work. I've never had issues but some have.

Haven't the Leica we 4-20x50's been discontinued and replaced with the 6.5-25x56? Either way it's not really apples to apples in my opinion to these two scopes. I'd compare the Leica not to swaro x5 and the like...

Yes it has & I believe their 3x15x56 as well. Not sure if the x5 & z5 have the same glass but I had a swaro z5 a few years ago. I didn't feel it was worth the money & I preferred my zeiss hd5 over it.

I've sold a lot of the scopes in the retail setting... the Leica is one of the clearest crispest riflescopes I've ever looked through. If you plan on using it for longer range need to grab clicks for adjustments I would go with leupold or others with better turret system. If you're going to use reticle you want to be unhappy with the Leica exclamation

Mtank.....I've dealt with a lot of scopes in my day. I would spend my money on a Nightforce scope. I quit Leupold because of the service after the sales.

AMEN! I totally love my Night Force, for clearness, ease of adjustment, Zero Stop, and return to zero.

That's Awsome let use know how you like it. Like I said I never had the scope but everything else from them. I tend to run nightforce myself on my rifles but I'm sure the glass is better on the Leica. I'd love to try one though.

I'm looking forward to using it. Already got the tracking number so will have Thursday for sure unless there is a unforeseen issue. Which ever gun it goes on will be mainly a hunting rifle.
