Favorite bottom metal

Question for you guys. I have a gun with Remington metal and a Wyatt's mag box. I can only get two shells in the magazine because my bottom metal has a lip that sticks out about a 1/16" of an inch by the trigger. Do any of the bottom metal mentioned above sit flush at the trigger so I could get three shells in the magazine? Thanks and sorry for hijacking the thread...

I like PT&G Stainless BDL bottom metal for 700's.
Rechnagel or Sunny Hill for Obendorf Maurer 98's/Win Model 70's.

Cheers.

I like Sunny Hill but I haven't been able to convince myself that I need to spend $450 for a BDL trigger guard.
Sunny Hill makes long and short BDL MILLED metal for less than that. Think about $175 for item 517 or 526. I think those are the proper part numbers. I have found it fits Mc and H-S better than Dakota, and is hands down the winner over anything PT&G makes.

Some of those lower priced pieces are two piece where the bow and magazine are screwed together if that matters to you. It doesn't affect outward appearance, and it's still 100% cnc machined. Just and fyi. They also make a BDL assembly with a drop magazine if you're looking for an extra round down. It would require a different stock though if you want it fully inletted and not have the lower 1/4" of the magazine exposed below the stock line. That assembly is one of the higher priced pieces, though.

I started with a Remington 700 ADL in .308. When I was looking into bottom metals, I couldn't believe the prices, then I found Magpul's bottom Metal. It was WAY lower in price than all mentioned above, lighter in weight, and the mag release was ambi and easy even with gloves. AND it came with your choice of a 5 or 10 RD mag.
Checked YouTube finding out how to install.
Found a second-hand BDL synthetic stock for $40.00. About 3-4 hours later of Dremel and filing, I had a perfect fit. Couldn't be happier.
And NO you don't have to buy Magpul's Hunter stock, although it is really hot. I'm on a budget.

While pricey, I really like the Williams bottom metal(available from Brownells). Installed this on this on my Remington M40, Vietnam era sniper rifle about a dozen years ago.
