Hope I don't have to justify to you all why hunting predators is addictive. I'm an amateur coyote hunter, I don't do tournaments or anything fancy. I only have a cheap FoxPro and it's such a pain to change sounds I usually stick to mouth calls. I just like doing it. I try to call em in close as possible but sure don't mind shooting at them if they hang up. I did call in one pack of 4 that got about 15 yds away before I fired, but I was so excited I missed all of them. I usually get one about every three stands, sometimes a double. It's just for fun, and I don't take myself too seriously. Just something to hunt in the non game season.

Yea I like hunting them too, plenty of them around N/E Ca.

Nice job. Was that .556? What bullet did you use? That is some nice scenery, what state? If you happen to kill one with a .338 or above please share the pics.

Yes 5.56/223 with Hornady V-max 55 grain. And Hornady 75 grain OTM. Most were pretty close due to terrain and cover preventing me from seeing them past 50 yds. But the snow pic was over open cattle country with 75 gr. and they usually hang up at 300 yds + because that section gets called a lot. It's all in MT. When I hunt the real brushy, heavy cover area's I use my carbine with red dot so I can get some practice with it. When I hunt the open area's I throw the 18" barreled upper with 3x magnifier on it for extra reach. On a side note I know many of us don't use ear pro when hunting. I learned a hard lesson using a brake with no ear pro. I had a pack of 4 come in and surround me. I went through a 20 rd magazine trying to get them all. I did permanent damage to my ears on that one. Even with a 223 a brake is just too loud with no ear pro. Lesson learned.

Also if you see the orange vest in one pic. When I deer/elk hunt, I break down my rifle and put it in my hunting pack. When I set up I get the rifle out and set it up. I almost always have coyotes work through when I'm hunting game. I just got tired of letting them go, not wanting to ruin the hunt by firing an unsuppressed round. Especially if I'm on easy access public land when I know there are gut piles and carcasses around to hold coyotes. Being able to hunt with a suppressor even big game in MT, I see no reason not too.
