How about a 300 Win Mag “Modified”?

The PRC is Hornady way of selling you a 300 win mag again!!LOL!
Just like the 6.5mm Creed, but everyone and their brothers healer collie mix ate that right up- passed the .260 on the shelf to pick up the creedmoor lmao. I like Hornady and I Dig the 6.5 CM, but they remind me of someone in the next bathroom stall who insists on passing you extra paper before the logs even hit the water.

I, too, would pass a 9 twist 2.86 mag length 260 rem...

I guess if magazine length is an issue than the CM is for you. I was referring to the "cartridge shopping" we all do internally when thinking about our next build. I have never had length issues on a .260, either because they all sit in a chassis or stock using longer AI mags. You have a point though.

I'm just here to stir the pot.

Like others have said, the PRC, Nosler, Dakota and Blaser will all do a pretty good job of meeting those requirements. The 300 WSM and SAUM would bee a pretty good fit too, but give up a little performance to the longer cases. I doubt anyone will see a meaningful difference between any of them in the field.

just not true tho...bigger ..go look at the advertised ballistics...
that does not come from taking a belt off...it comes from BIGGER case.
Depends on which aspect you are emphasizing.

Larger internal capacity, yes. Capacity that is gained by moving the walls to the same diameter as the missing belt, so same magazine capacity, same action requirements.

When like pressures are considered, 300 PRC is more a match for the 300 Weatherby than the 300WM.

The 300 Prc is 96 H2O cap
the 300 win mag in norma brass is 95 h20 cap
The 30 Nolser is 99gr cap H20

its literally the same size minus a belt, its not way bigger!!! and believing published ballistics of a company pushing their new cartridge is like believing liberals LOL:D:D:D:D!!

Seems 300 prc is literally that.

30 Nosler for a little more action

You have to consider how much room the bullet takes up inside the case. Empty shells aren't necessarily an apples to apples comparison.

(wrong data)
What are you talking about??

If they are both loaded to Sammi specs with heavies then the PRC has a noticeable advantage on case capacity. If you reload and have a properly throated Win Mag then they are very similar, only the PRC has a longer neck and no belt. Case capacities are very close. I actually prefer the PRC design over the Win. Mag for the mentioned reasons. Which is why I said it is exactly what the OP was looking for...
What part was "Wrong Data" or "Just not true"???

I love the 300WM and have been shooting it for years. Gotta admit two things I don't like are the belt and the short neck. Any such thing or any way to eliminate the belt and lengthen the neck? I don't want to move up to the R.U.M. Because the WM burns enough powder as it is and supplies all the power and distance I want.
Buy/build a .30 Nosler... That's what you're describing.
