Getting a new rangefinder for hunting and long range shooting. Which would yall rec??? I have 5700 kestrel to use while I'm out. Love Vortex warranty but no connection to the kestrel yet. So go for warranty or connection like the sig or leica has??
Dust,
I have or have had the Leica 1600, 2700, 2800 and the Sig 2400 BDX and 3000 BDX. Without going into details, as a hunter and long range shooter, and since you have the Kestrel 5700 already, I would definitely recommend going with one that connects to the Kestrel...which would limit it to the 2800 and the two sig's mentioned.
There are updsides and downsides to all the options, as well as differing price points etc...obviously the 3k BDX is a bino, so that may or may not fit your needs.
I have reviews up on both Leicas and the 2400 BDX that might help, working on finishing up a review on the 3k as soon as I can get a scope review done.
Anyway, if it fits in your budget, I think you will appreciate the integration. I still love my 2700, don't get me wrong, but the ability to have all the data populated into the Kestrel and then have it automatically displayed back in the RF for your solution is pretty awesome.
As far as warranty goes, Vortex really takes care of you, no doubt. But I can also say that Leica and Sig are very focused on taking care of their customers as well and I think in terms of RF performance, they have more to offer at the moment.
HTH, please don't hesitate to reach out if you want more details on the RF's.
