ELD X shape, not a fan?

A throated WSM will run higher numbers with a 215 and shoot small at 1000, it helps to match your throat to your bullet other wise no one would do it!!
I do like the 200.20X bullet though, seems a good match for short COAL.

Yeah, agreed with on a properly throated rifle. I'll give the ELDs a shot this week and unless it's earth shattering I'll probably stick with the ABLRs and the Berger's. A 190 grn ABLR at 3000 FPS should do just fine. With the Berger's I could probably run a little heavier as well. The 180s are a little short to run at the lands.

I also love the looks of a long bullet in the WSM case. Makes it a sexy round.

If I recall, the 200s and 220s were developed to be loaded to saami spec in factory ammunition. When they first came out with the 212 it was just for handloaders. I see that it's now used in factory 300 PRC ammo but still not in the 300wm.

The 200 eldx is used in their precision hunter line of ammo and fits standard SAAMI dimensions for OAL and will stabilize from slower twists. If you want a sleeker ogive and can seat passed SAAMI length the 212 is much longer.

Now here is a sexy bullet. Berger 200.20x seated at lands next to the ELD-X seated at lands. Going to give both a shot Monday with a hefty load of RL26.

Got to shoot a little on on Monday. Shot both the Berger 200.20x and the ELDx using the Berger Seating depth test. Top group is best from ELDx seated at the lands, bottom group is best with Berger with a .010 jump. I forgot my lead sled so I was just shooting off my range bag with no support in the back. All were shooting around 2820 FPS with 67 grns of RL 26. Next I'll start screwing with the powder charge see if the groups tighten up and get a little more speed.

Still trying to get the ES down. I've neck turned all brass, trimmed, sorted by weight, bushing neck sized all. Powder is measured by Lyman dispenser and RCBS beam scale. Still setting around 30 on the ES.. Of note I shot my 6.5-06 AI with my pet load and had an ES of 4, so I know I can do it...Or I'm getting lucky with it, who knows?? I'm using Nosler Brass with the 6.5 and FC with the 300, both are using CCI 250s. Using 4831sc with the 6.5.
