I have a 280AI in the works, and a few hundred each of the amax and accubond on the shelf, plus h4831sc and some h1000. Which would you choose for open country fall deer & antelope hunting? I've been quite impressed with the terminal performance of the amax with my 7wsm but thinking these accubonds could use a purpose too.

Amax no doubt for distance.

Amax will have no problem with deer and antelope, I think that is a solid choice as long as they shoot well!

One of my 280AI's delivers exceptional accuracy with the 160G Accubond / H4831SC combination. The results on several Whitetails at various distances have been excellent.

Does anyone find a difference in loads between n the 162 amax vs. the 162 eldx? Charge weight, seating depth, neck tension, etc.? With the amax being discontinued, I hate to work up a new load on two rifles when my stock runs out

Load some of each with each powder and see which combination your rifle likes the best. Either one will kill deer antelope just fine.

I think you'll find that the Amax will offer better accuracy at all longer ranges that the accubond. Could be wrong as every gun has a favorite bullet. All my rifles love the Amax bullets. The deer, not so much. The 162s are phenomenal performers on deer. They do a number on ground hogs too at some very, very long ranges. Beside being all that, the price is one of it's better attributes.
