I go from the point of view that loading should be a pleasure, not a chore that has to be done. Here is a list of what I got and it has served me well for the last 20 years. The majority of my shooting has been done testing at 100 yards and I have shot a CheyTac M200 at all distances up to one mile. The furthest shot I took while hunting was at about 550 yards on a blesbok ram in South Africa. It was with a wildcat 22 using a 40gr bullet at 4700fps.

1. Press. I used to use an RCBS Rockchucker until I lucked into a Big Max about 20 years ago. I learned very quickly that you need the most rigid press that you can afford. Any press that comes in a box where you have to open the box to see if anything is inside, will not do.
2. Dies. Get the type that has a lockring with a lock screw and not a friction ring, they tend to move when you tighten or loosen the die in the press.
3. Shellholder. Get one of each type you need, that way you always use the same one with a die set. They differ in height and when you have more of each type, it becomes confusing which one you used to load with a particular die set.
4. Priming. I use a loose standing bench primer by RCBS and it works accurately and quickly.
5. Scale. The scale has to tell the difference accurately to one tenth a grain. It does not matter if the scale is slow because you use it to set up a powder measure.
6. Powder Measure. Get a powder measure with a horizontal cavity to measure the powder. All the bench rest guys who load with a powder measure use this type. I use an accurized Lyman 55.
7. Assorted loading blocks and case lube.
8. Brass prepping equipment. A case trimmer, a deburring tool and a set of drills #40 to #50.

A means of holding the rifle is nice to have and I will not be able to get along without one.

If y'all have any questions, fire away.
