doesn't? Shilen .264 barrel blank, but didnt pay attention to what twist when I was ordering and got a 9twist, so I'm thinking it's a good candidate for a 260Rem, who loves them who doesnt?
Need to order a reamer and get this project started already, just not sure what this barrel wants to become. Going to put it on a Savage SA I have laying around.

123smk or 123gr eldm or 123 scenar

Any one of those at 3000fps will be awesome

I just know your barrel doesn't want to become a creedmoor! I have a 260 rem and love it. It has an 8 twist barrel though.

I used a 260 Remington for competition200/300 yard Egg Shoots) over a 6 year period with excellent success. This cartridge is capable of exceptional accuracy, My primary load was 142gr SMK over 45gr of H4831sc. Running at 2725FPS. My only gripe was the short case life(loose primer pockets) after a few reloads, with all brands of brass, including Lapua. A few years ago I switched to the 6.5x47 Lapua with comparable performance, with 25+ reloads with brass.

My first 260 was & is a 6.5x308 wildcat built long before Rem brought out the 260. Douglas stainless 22" Bbl, 1/8 twist. The only bullet shot thru it has been the Barnes original 120gr X bullet. It has taken several elk cleanly with one shot kills.Complete penetration every time. It drives the 120gr at 3004 fps using Win 760 powder/ H-414. Same powder , different label. Also have a Savage model 16 260 that loves the Barnes 120gr TSX. Hung my 338 up years ago. In my 6.5's that have a 1/9 twist they handle 140 gr bullets just fine. I make all my 260 brass from once fired 308. One pass thru a FL sizer & load. No trimming or neck turning required. Case life is excellent & very economical to load.
