Wts like new ao built proof, defiance 300 rum

If you have the wallet, but are unsure of the advantages a rifle like this will give you in the field. Allow me to offer my first hand experience with this builder and this chambering.

Accurate Ordnance is one of a small group of builders who consistently turn out works of mechanical art.
Fit and finish, yeah sure, lot's of guys, including basement builders, can run a lathe and Dremel to make an action snug up nicely in a stock. But, we're really taking about quality parts, milled to tolerances and married together from years of experience and learned tradecraft to achieve the end result of accuracy perfected. Bonus, their rifles are also appealing to most eyes.

The 300 Ultra usually gets bad mouthed a lot by guys who hunt in parts of the country where owning, and hunting this rig would be as outta place as showing up to meet your new girl friends parents wearing a red dress, heels, makeup and telling them you're gonna marry their daughter... It's just not gonna happen. Same for a dude sitting over a bait field with a 120 yard maximum for shooting lanes. It's a smidge much.

Now, if you're hunting environment puts you across canyons, steep mountains, or the wide open plains of the west and Midwest and you continually find yourself doing your best to close the gap to your animal, but terrain or open space prevents you from getting closer than the magical 200 yards that some hunters will say is the furthest anyone should shoot at a game animal... Big sigh! This rig can be a blessing.

I have hunted a 300 RUM for almost 15 years on the Oregon Coast, and the open plains of Wyoming for goats, deer and elk. Shooting 150g-165g for deer and antelope and 180g NAB's for elk.

If you do your job behind the scope, this chambering won't disappoint you...Even better, now you have a rig right here that can deliver 1/2 MOA or better with the 3/8 guarantee from AO without the long lead time.

Last words...If you reload, don't be turned away by the naysayers who ramble on about 82grains of powder, Smeh, I can get just as much from "insert whatever cartridge" using 1/2 the powder...Another big sigh!

If you can afford this amazing build, you can afford the 8lb jug of powder to load up what this rifle wants to eat...

I don't know the guy selling this rifle, and I don't work for AO. But, I do know this rifles capabilities coming off the bench at AO. You could do a lot worse and not much better, imho.
