Puffy jacket and pants

Kuiu superdown here-- had a pair of the patagonia puffy pants and they were great too esp underneath waders.

I have the lowest end kuiu, the teton, puffy jacket. It's great, fits under the guide jacket and keeps me very warm. I also have a surplus Gen 3 military cold weather parka and pants. I carry it in my pack for glassing and just in case. You can pull it over boots and jacket and everything. Worth checking out if you're more worried about price than little extra weigh (like me!)

For the OP, I would forsure know the pros and cons of down vs synthetic too. I don't think there's a wrong way to go, butttt, I think that usually one will fit what one is looking for a little better then the other.

Beretta brand, very well made either primaloft which I use or options for down.

I would definitely do your research on down vs synthetic.
Either one you pick I'd check the classifieds on here and especially Rokslide as there's always good used sets at a reduced cost.

GOOGLE Montbell men's down pants. Their "Superior" model is the lightest and least expensive. The Tec pants are another 25% more with side zippers.

BUT, I recommend buying only pants with down that has some brand of Durable Water Repellant (DWR) treatment, like the Montbell pants. This recent development is amazing at helping down to absorb at least 30% less moisture than untreated down - and dry 60% faster! DWR brands are Dri Down, Down Tec, etc. AT present there are around 5 or 6 brands of DWR.
