I won't be spilling all the beans of our little Blackjack cartridge but I was curious what the LRH crowd would dub this efficient case.

The main thing I will say about this case was that it's first priority was to efficiently reach 3200 fps in 24" barrel with our 131 ACE. This should translate to 3050 fps with our hunting bullet coming out later this year. Goat gun, match gun, deer gun, kid gun, wife gun, whatever you want gun.

I'll be shooting and testing the 25 SST mountain rifle we just built for ELR matches and Hunting Mule deer and elk, but wanted to get this prototype brass in the testing pipeline. BTW we are paying $10,000 to any 25 Caliber shooter who wins the Q Creek ELR match near Medicine Bow Wyoming. Prizes for 25 Cal shooters all the way to 20th place.

Let me know what you would call it!

Definitely go with 25 SST for now. It is a great cartridge and a superb long range deer and elk machine. For match shooters it may be a touch hot but for crossover rifles of match+hunting it really fits the bill.

Our production brass with be about 1-1.5 years out if we use our first choice of supplier. We could get something sooner but we are focusing on getting high quality brass out affordably so as many shooters as possible can run the cartridge. This will take a little time but gives us a good amount of time to work out any kinks and develop a good load data collection in that time frame.

We will provide ready to go brass after prototype, testing, and load development accumulation. The second bullet will work very well out of most cartridges in 1:7 and 1:7.5. Some 1:8's in slower cartridges of the magnum class may lose a few % bc at low altitudes and temp. 1:7 and 1:7.5 for magnums is recommended.

We publish recommended twist rates wherever we can. I'd invite you to run the numbers of your target velocity and whatever conditions you think you'll encounter. 1.440" OAL, 131 gr, and 3000-3200 fps.
