Placed two levels on my gun to level my scope, the further one is the Wheeler that sits in the action and the closer one is the Segway. The Segway is setting on some Leupold two piece bases on a Remington 700VLS.

Which one would you trust?

I would trust the one on the scope bases. The action levels works but sometimes they dont fit right and can be tilted either because the level is too big or too small to make it fit right.

Just out of curiosity, what's the level you see on the top of the scope that looks to be reading the same as the Wheeler?

It's the other Wheeler level that you stick on top of the scope. I was comparing it to the string line.

This is the one I went with because I wasn't very confident with the weaver. Surprisingly the one sitting on top of the scope seemed real close to the plumb bob.

My wheeler level that sits in the action raceway is not accurate. To test a level, just note the bubble location, rotate it 180 degrees make sure it returns to the same relative position. If it does good to go. My wheeler does not. So I still have to come up with a better way to level the rifle. I really like the plumbob method for leveling the scope once the rifle is level.

I have a shim (you can use a nut) that fits on top of the flats of the rear bolt raceway, then sit a small level on top of the shim.
Then rotate the scope reticle to a plumb bob.

Important! As mentioned earlier check bubble levels by rotating 180° on a flat clean surface. It should read the same both ways.

Also dont forget to install a scope mounted level / anti cant bubble on your scope while the reticle is still plump with the plumb line.

Later don't forget to do a tall target test to see if your tracking is true.

Got to get some more levels. All the 1" MSP anticant levels are sold out last time I checked. The setup in the picture I don't dial, just use the reticle to holdover, it's my coyote/rock chuck gun.
