6.5 builds ...let's see them

I submit my RBros 6.5x284 LW Hunter. This rifle is more accurate than I will ever be. Here is a picture from load development - 5 shots. Final load is 143g ELD-X, 57.2g Retumbo, Lapua brass, using 215M primer coming out of the barrel at 3010 fps.
When you die can I have that gun?:D

Absolutely love this rifle! Slings the 140 Bergers at a comfy 3167. So far, have killed two muley bucks at 375 and 460, and a cow elk at 580 yards.

1942 husvarna m38 , never had it out of the stock to see what trigger is in it but it breaks at 2 pounds. No idea who sporterized it but they did a great job. Barrel is floated and action is glass bedded. Has a very affordable vx1 4-12 bdreticle With rl22 and 140 gamekings it will consistently group 1/4" at 100. 2650- over the crono , lapua brass 91/2 primers. I bought this in a local shop for 225 bucks about 5 years ago. And it is by far my best purchase. I ring a 6 inch steel plate at 450 yards till i'm bored.

Here's my 6.5 SAUM built by TS Customs. Can't wait to see how it shoots.

Can't take credit for the build, another member had it done and I bought it from him.

I shoot 140 VLD's at 3070 fps, or 147 ELD-M's at 3040 fps. This gun is pretty heavy, but it is extremly accurate and easy for anyone to shoot. Just this year, my wife took a mule deer at 640, her cow elk at just over 700 yards, a pronghorn at 360 and 500, my sister took a couple pronghorn at 660 yards and 850 yards, and my 12 year old niece took a pronghorn at 340, a little over 400, a buck pronghorn at 980 yards, and a deer at a little over 500 yards. I myself took pronghorn this year at 125, 330, a deer at around 560, and a bull elk at just over 800 yards. It's extremly consistent and my go to. View attachment 121837

Cody got yourself a new 260ai 29" seems a bit much but it sure speeds them up. How did you deal with the short action seems to me it would hinder. Nice Build

Good luck and shoot straight y'all

Thank you!! and the short action "problem" thing really is overstated with a .260 or .260 ai. The only time you will be limited is in a factory Remington sa mag box, and even in that case, a smith can switch out for a Wyatts 3.00" mag box for relatively cheap. Pretty much any other short action has plenty of room for them, or takes very little modification to do so, or in my case, run an AICS mag system. The ARC mags I'm using allow for 2.970" OAL, so this is no issue. This is a SAAMI .260 length throat, and after around 1200-1400 rounds my OAL with the 147's is around 2.910", seated .005" off lands, and Berger VLD's are very similar, within a 10 or 15 thousands. And as far as the bullet being seated too far in the case and robbing performance....it may be taking away some velocity, I don't know because I haven't ran one throated out, but over 3000 fps with 147's is pretty stellar performance out of this cartridge in my mind, especially when I see most SAUM's running in the same velocity range. Also, accuracy is like this....the black dot is the bottom of a spray paint can. So I'm happy with it!!!
