300 win mag?

Rfurman24 said it correctly he builds great rifles. My buddy has a 280ai he built it's accuracy and just sexy. Just be prepared to wait. I think it was 6 months behind schedule. I was scared I told my buddy to have Lane build his rifle and I thought he got scammed. It all worked out and he was happy in the end.

One problem with this is I did that on my first two rifles and they did not turn out well. Now I am much more specific with what I want.

Who were they? If you are paying 6k for a rifle it better be right period. If not it's time for another smith. I completely understand telling your smith what you want in every components for most smiths. Dallas is not most smiths which is why he is not cheap.

I'd rather not talk bad about either of them but they are very well know. I can say Kirby and pierce both delivered exactly what I wanted and I learned a lot from the first ones. That being said you are correct I now pick my components and have a very detailed discussion with the smith and let him help guide me and use his expertise where needed. I think the first ones where a case of the smith did what they wanted not what I asked for. But live and learn. I can pm you who they were if you want to avoid them. But I try not to hurt anyone's business online. Simply because two side to every story and they can't defend them self's.

If you are planing to shoot large game do not rol with VLD bullets save those skin kinds fragile hi bc bullets for paper of smaller game. Go with non-VLD's thick skinned bullets for large game. Think of thin skinned bullets as highly accurate frangibles not real hunting bullets.

Berger bullets flat out hammer game. The Berger 215 Hybrid "match" is the best bullet I have ever used. If you do not like them or have an axe to grind great. Their performance is well documented. I think I will stick with them.

Uh, the bull in my avatar was taken at 650 plus yards with a...Berger VLD. Also, the bull this year at 400 was taken with a Berger VLD too. Bang and down. Dead is dead. I ain't changin.
